Origin - Native to U.S.

Other info. - This showy little species is found in the eastern half of Missouri. The plant is mainly found in the midwestern portion of the U.S. but has been introduced further east in cultivation. O. pilosella is fairly easy to ID in the field because of its relatively small size, big yellow flowers, hairy stems, and four-angled fruits. It grows well from seed.
