Other info. - This little species can be found in the Ozark region of Missouri and in a few eastern counties north of the Missouri River. The plant is easily identified by its small yellow flowers, thin stems (which are NOT winged), and its small, thin, mostly alternate leaves. Another species, L. sulcatum Riddell, is similar but has two small black glands at the base of each of its leaves. Of these two species, L. medium prefers a more acid soil.
