Habitat - Riverbanks, cultivated fields, gravel bars, old fields, roadsides, railroads.

Origin - Native to Asia.

Other info. - This introduced weed can be found throughout Missouri. Seed of this plant found its way to the U.S. in other grain in the 1920s. It has since spread to much of the eastern U.S.
This is a fairly easy species to Id in the field because of its big nodding, inflorescence and pubescent adaxial leaf surfaces. The hairs of the leaves have pustular bases and give the leaves a scabrous feel.
