Flowering - May - July. Habitat - Low woods, moist ground on open slopes. Origin - Native to U.S. Other info. - This species is rare in Missouri and has only been reported from two southern Missouri counties. The subspecies carolina is reported from just one county (Carter) as is the other subspecies, angusta. The plant is more common in states to the southeast. Photographs taken off FR 3146, Carter County, MO., 5-26-03, and in the Tuskegee National Forest, AL., 6-8-05. |
