Habitat - Railroads, roadsides.

Origin - Native to South America.

Other info. - This tall species has only been reported from one Missouri county (St. Louis) thus far. The plant can be identified by its big ligules and villous spikelets. The open panicle with its many (2-30) branches is another good characteristic to look for.
