Flowering - July - October. Habitat - Wet ground of meadows, low woods, thickets, swamps, sloughs, ditches, oxbow lakes, and river flood plains. Origin - Native to U.S. Other info. - This species can be found scattered throughout much of Missouri but is mostly absent from the central Ozark region. The plant can be identified by its small white flowers (which are in clusters in the leaf axils), its square stems, and its leaves (which abruptly taper to the base).
