Habitat - Bottomland prairies, moist upland prairies, margins of bodies of water, spring branches, fens.

Origin - Native to the U.S.

Other info. - This species can be found mainly in the southeast corner of Missouri but is also found in scattered counties to the west and north. The plant is easy to identify because of its long, drooping inflorescences.
