Habitat - Wet soils along streams, ditches, ponds, lakes, and sloughs. Also in moist areas of fields and woods.

Origin - Native to U.S.

Other info. - This little species can be found throughout Missouri. It can be identified by its small size, square stems, and small blue flowers. Another species, L. anagallidea (Michx.) Pennell is similar but has lower pedicels which are longer then their subtending leaves. This latter species is less common in Missouri and does not grow in as wet conditions as L. dubia.
